Therapedic Introduces New Line at Las Vegas

What do you get when you combine the conformability of latex with the support of memory foam? Fusion by Therapedic.

Therapedic Sleep Products is previewing its new Fusion line of bedding here at the Las Vegas Market, in space B-822. The line is so new that many of the Therapedic licensees will be seeing it for the first time at the unveiling in the company’s new permanent space in "B" Building of the World Market Center. Two models of the three-number line will be on display this week.

"We wanted to come up with something that not only looked different, but felt unique, as well," said Jeffrey Sherman, owner of Therapedic Midwest, and the architect of the new Fusion line.

Fusion features a new type of slow recovery latex foam as its key ingredient. This new latex features what is called a "progressive recovery," rather than the slow recovery of conventional visco memory foam beds. It blends many of the characteristics of natural latex with the slower recovery support of memory foam.

"It responds quicker to movement than conventional visco," said Sherman, "and, it does not need to warm-up to become conformable."

"It’s different, it’s unique, and it’s a product that will freshen-up almost any retailer’s floor," said Gerry Borreggine, president/CEO of Therapedic. "It has a look and a feel that is new and different."

The Fusion models are assembled like a cake, said Sherman. The recipe for a typical model is as follows:

First is an 1 ½ -inch of firm foundation foam at the product’s base. Then, comes a 5-inch layer of high density foam. Next, there is a 3-inch layer of pure, natural latex rubber followed by a 3-inch layer of the new memory latex. Finally, a quilted, exotic cover is set to the product with a "bun" style finish.

"This is a pretty hot looking and cool feeling mattress," said Borreggine.

With foam beds being perceived as higher quality sleep products by today’s consumers, this line is being positioned as a high-end luxury entry.

"This product will be positioned as a more comfortable alternative to the high-end visco, or designer entries in the market," Borreggine said.
