GBS Enterprises and Protect-All On The Move

 

Protect-All is really on the move as business takes off, and according to mattress industry veteran, Dave Powers, the company has a new mantra, “We offer the best mattress protection money can buy,” says Powers. Mr. Powers is the newly appointed President of GBS Enterprises (formerly operating as Genie B’s Specialties). Powers is passionate about his new foray into the all important mattress protection category. “My 25 years experience in both the manufacturing/wholesale and mattress retail sectors gives me a unique take on the vital importance of a healthy night’s sleep and the maintenance of one’s mattress. Our Protect-All products provide that and more,” states Powers.


GBS Enterprises is only new in name. As Genie B’s Specialties, the company has nearly twenty years of supplier experience of sheets, pillows, promotional bed packs and specialty point of purchase materials to the mattress industry. Protect-All mattress protection was added over the past few years and now has the lion’s share of their overall sales mix. In fact, they are currently the fastest growing provider of mattress protection in the U.S., according to Powers. Powers has set ambitious goals for the enterprise and says the company will have a diverse products and services strategy moving forward. “ We are in a unique position to service our customers faster and more efficiently than most companies, as we are wholly owned and operated (we’re nimble) and located ideally in the central U.S. Our FAST PROTECTION PROGRAM allows us to process and distribute product, in some cases, within 24 hours of order receipt,” stated Powers. “ We continually have the retailer’s interest at heart when it comes to mattress protection and their bottom line,” he continued.


The Protect-All product is one of a few similar products recently introduced to the mattress sector. The company believes they have a few features that allow their Protect-All product to deliver a better performance to the consumer and the retailer, such as an advanced “NEW” sidewall construction allowing the protection product to fit any thickness of mattress, “GUARANTEED!” says Powers.


With his retail experience, Powers is bullish on the shared benefits of the Protect-All Program. He points out that ultimately, the consumer enjoys the greatest benefit with the protection of their mattress warranty (against stains) and the enhanced healthful night’s rest one achieves with the product’s inherent anti-microbial features.

 

The retailer adds an incremental sale of approximately 10% to each sales ticket at well above the industry standard mattress profit margin. And finally, and equally important is the fact that the retail floor sales person can increase his/her income opportunity by as much as 10% annually.


“It’s easy to see that Protect-All provides a program where everybody wins, which is not common in the naturally competitive environment of mattress sales,” Powers concluded.
